Tom Farruggia, President and owner of Illinois Fire & Safety Company, is a national advocate of fire protection and prevention. He is recognized nationally for his expertise and is active in setting the standards used throughout the country. Tom speaks throughout the country teaching others in his industry how to understand the standards and how to deliver the highest levels of quality. Even fire and insurance inspectors turn to his company for training.

Appointed by State Fire Marshal David Foreman to serve as advisor to the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal as a member of the seven-member Illinois Fire Equipment Distributor and Employee Board. (Served as the Board's first Chairman from 1989-1991.)

Conducted a workshop on kitchen hood fire suppression systems by the Illinois Fire Inspectors’ Association.
