Veteran's Day 2015

Illinois Fire & Safety supports the Polish American Contractors and Builders Association

Illinois Fire & Safety supported the Polish American Contractors and Builders Association at their annual expo in Chicago on November 4th! Our company was bestowed with the honor of being an official ambassador for the organization!  Anyone interested in becoming a member can call 773-875-5010.


Chicagoland Safety, Health, and Environmental Conference and Expo a great success!

Over 1,000 attended this year at the event held annually at the Northern Illinois University Naperville campus.  The conference features excellent speakers on relevant topics on safety, health, and environmental issues.  Attendees received the most up-to-date information immediately applicable to the workplace.  Illinois Fire & Safety participated in the expo and provided raffle prizes.



System Sensor Recalls Combination Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detectors Due to Carbon Monoxide Hazard

System Sensor recalled its i4 Series combination carbon monoxide (CO)/smoke detectors on February 11, 2015.  The detectors can fail to detect carbon monoxide gas in the home, posing a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.  To read more, go to our recalls and notices page.


Illinois Fire & Safety Supports Neighborhood Food Pantries

Each month, the Neighborhood Food Pantries feed many hungry people in Du Page County, Illinois.  Since 1999, they've provided food security to their neighbors in need, as well as monetary assistance for housing, utilities, medical care/prescriptions, etc.  This year, Illinois Fire & Safety participated again in the Silent Auction Fund Raiser for the organization.  The evening was a great success!


Kidde Fire Safety Recalls Certain Fire Extinguishers

Kidde Fire Safety recalled certain fire extinguishers on November 20, 2014 that may fail to discharge completely when activated.  Read more about this recall on our recalls and notices page.

Did you know that if you have the potential for a fire with any of the following characteristics, that you need special "high-flow" fire extinguishers to successfully fight those fires?

         Flammable liquid fire under pressure

         Flammable gas fire under pressure

         Flammable liquid flowing fire

         Flammable liquid spill fire with an obstacle in the middle

FLAG FIRE Extinguishers No Longer Supported by Manufacturer

Replacement parts and components are no longer available for FLAG FIRE extinguishers.   Extinguishers that are no longer supported by the manufacturer may require replacement.   Read more about this situation here
